2011 Show Results

2010 brought ABGA Ennoblement for our wonderful doe WWF T56 whom we fondly call Tornado. She is out of WWF Classic Man Ennobled and I bought her from Pete and Jana Peters a number of years ago when she was a yearling. Thanks Pete !

The show season has started off with a bang for Copper Creek. We attended the two ABGA show weekend at Stevenson Washington. There were over 150 goats entered in the weekend show.

April Fool's Show
April 2, 2011
Judges Ray Bolinger and Jesse Kimmel

Percentage Does

We didn't take many to this show as we kidded late this year. We'll give the babes a chance to grow up some. A 0-3 percentage doeling took second in her big class and our Yippee who is a yearling now took 1st and Reserve Yearling Champion under Ray Bolinger. Ray also put our 0-3 month fullblood doeling 3rd in her large class.

Jesse Kimmel liked our girls better. The 0-3 % girl, Magical Star, won her class and took Junior Reserve. Yippee repeated 1st and Yearling Reserve under Jesse. Our fullblood Small Change not only came in first in her class she took Overall Fullblood Doe ! Jesse loved her bone and her extreme looks. He said she was packed with muscle ! and  she is

Wild West Boer Show
May 14th & 15th
3 Shows
John Tart III, Jesse Kimmel and JoshTaylor

We took a few more goats to Yakima as our 0-3 girls were into the 3-6 month class, so we added some into the 0-3 classes

All I can say is WOW! What a good show for Copper Creek!

Josh Tart III thought our 0-3 % doe was a bit light in pigment so he placed her in the middle of the class but it was all up hill from there.
Yippee
our yearling girl went Yearling Reserve and Overall Reserve
Small Change went Junior Champion and Overall Champion fullblood Doe
Our buckling
Ripped Leather won his 0-3 class and took Junior reserve

Jessee Kimmel gave our 0-3% doe
Magical Munchkin
1st place in her class.
Yippee went Yearling Grand and Overall grand.
Small Change went Junior grand and Overall Champion Fullblood Doe
Ripped Leather took his class and our yearling buck Lugnut took Yearling reserve.

Josh Taylor may have become my favorite judge but not for my placings. He is just a very informative judge and loves structure. I learned a lot from him.
Copper Creek's placings were
0-3 month Munchkin was 1st in her class
Yippee took Yearling Grand and Overall Grand % Doe
Small Change took Junior Grand and Overall Reserve. Four shows so far for Small Change - 3 Overall Grands and 1 Overall reserve !
We left early before the bucks showed so we could beat the darkness home.
What a great weekend. Good job goaties !

Next show June 19th at Cottage Grove - 2 USBGA shows

 Cottage Grove Show
USBGA Judges - Jim Appleby & Joe McCall

Cottage grove is always a fun show. This one was a bit different. The USBGA may accept ABGA goats but it won't even give them a ribbon to take a picture of when they win. So we were awarded numberous championships but didn't get to keep them.

Still the goats won
0-3 month old Pretty Girl started her show career with a bang. Both judges loved her. She is going to be a great % doe for us.
Yippee was Yearling Grand
Small Change was Junior Fullblood Grand
Rawhide Timmers came out of the barn to take dry yearling
Sumet took a rosette ( but didn't get to keep it :) for Senior FB
0-3 buck Blazer was Junior Reserve
Our BoJangle son Banjo was Yearling buck.
A pretty good day in Cottage grove.

Red, White and Boer Show
July 3rd & 4th
Judges: Chip Kemp & Terry Taylor

We host RWB so our goats aren't always at their tip top shape. The show is so much work I don't even get my goats washed but we get out there and show anyway.

In the 0-3 month % class Pretty Girl split the judges. She was second with Terry and 1st plus Junior Reserve and Overall Reserve with Chip. We thought that was pretty good for our little girl.
Yippee had an off day coming in second and third. She was Junior Reserve for Chip.
Small Change had a real off weekend. She must be going through a growthy stage. She was 5th for both judges.
Sumet won her classes and was Yearling Reserve for Chip
We brought Copper Creek Wingnut out of retirement to win both her large classes. She was Senior Reserve for both judges.
Young buck Blazer was second under Terry, but 1st and Reserve Junior for Chip
Our buck Lugnut who we sold at the 4 Star Sale was Yearling Reserve both days coming in behind the Overall Grand Champion.

So RWB was fair for us but a great show with lots of great folks. There were 200 goats at the farigrounds that weekend.
